Apprenticeships can play a powerful role in supporting professional growth, confidence and career development alongside demanding roles. In this interview, Dr Faith Matcham, Associate Professor in Psychology, reflects on how completing a data-focused apprenticeship has strengthened her technical skills, reshaped her approach to research, teaching and consultancy, and opened up new possibilities in her work in digital mental health.
We're thrilled to announce that Dr. Faith Matcham participated as a distinguished panelist at the Clean Slate Clinic White Paper Launch Event, contributing her expertise in digital mental health and cognitive resilience to this important initiative.

This symposium brings together five applied case studies exploring how researchers, communities, policy partners and practitioners can work together to shape behavioural science research and public health practice.
We will share learning from work on: co-producing research agendas with communities with historically low trust in institutions; developing public health guidance during avian influenza outbreaks; co-designing a PhD project on adolescent vaccine uptake; public engagement on loneliness with older adults from ethnically diverse groups; co-creating and evaluating iGAS public health messaging with people experiencing homelessness and people who inject drugs. The symposium reflects on the practical realities of partnership working, including trust building, power dynamics, time pressures and translating behavioural science into policy and practice.
More events will be announced soon. Follow us on Bluesky for updates.
